I know what depression is like, but a friend sent with prayer requests from the RMC-Prayer-line this:
Here's a secret for anxiety, impurity, anger, resentment, pride and selfishness: Use every such tendency of the mind as an opportunity to pray!
As soon as you recognize an ungodly or unhelpful thought, turn it into prayer. Over and over again. Hour by hour through the day--and if need be minute by minute. See how this changes the character of your day and, over time, transforms your thought patterns and brings them into conformity to Christ. Seek the Holy Spirit to bring such change about, and heaven will smile on you and bless you more richly than ever before.
I thought that this was a wonderful way to fight depression that most every one has at times. But God is able to take your anxiety and turn it into victory in Jesus. blee

The lady Carmine, gave me a song to sing one time when I was down and blue, and things just seemed to be going wrong all the time. I had just lost my last whole sibling, and she knows that I love to sing, and she started a song on one of her notes to me, and I was able to type in the whole song back to her. It helped put a song back into my heart. I just praise the Lord for this site and the friends one meets along the way.
In the last 2 months the Lord has blessed me in so many ways, that I cannot feel depressed, because I know my Lord lives and He loves me with His whole being and He does you too. I went thru those years of major depression. I felt terrible most of the time and then I made myself get involved with life and LIFE BECAME WORTH LIVING, BECAUSE MY SAVIOR LIVES. BECAUSE HE LIVES I CAN FACE TOMORROW, BECAUSE HE LIVES, ALL FEAR IS GONE, BECAUSE I KNOW OH-- OH, HE HOLDS THE FUTURE AND LIFE IS WORTH THE LIVING JUST BECAUSE HE LIVES.
HE REALLY DOES LOVE YOU!!!

this is blee, and I see that I made a mistake in my writing the other night. Being a widow is hard (not isn't). I was so tired, that I should have re-read what I wrote.
Carrine makes a lot of sense and is very good at presenting the right solutions, as I know from experience she has helped me many times.

Hello! I just read your prayer and thought I would write to let you know that I am praying for you. I wonder if maybe you are lonesome and vulnerable to getting hurt again. You said that this relationship ended on a sour note, I would think about why this relationship ended and maybe that will help you decide if you want to start a relationship with this man again. I know how it feels to be alone and lonely. I have done a lot of work on myself and know that today I will not let anyone abuse me again.I am not on medications for depression, but have felt some of the same feelings you are feeling. My x was an alcoholic and after many years alone I went to ALANON and found that I needed to explore my spirituality more. I have grown closer to GOD and my brother JESUS and have learned how to let go and let GOD handle any situations in my life that I cannot control. I don't know if anything I have said will help you, but felt that I needed to write to you and let you know that I do understand where you are and wanted to let you know I am praying for you.

Well, I think words are almost useless. I do notice the whole prayer request section on this site, and how people are drawn out of themselves to help someone at risk. Life is precious, and you are precious.
I have felt those bad feelings, for various reasons, but with my change of circumstance, I feel so much better. Depression can kill-the brain just shuts down. Even trite can help sometimes...there IS power in the blood. How? Jesus loves. He loves you. You can sing that tiny little song. And get enough power for one breath of air. We only need one step at a time, really. Maybe read..."The Lord...has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted..." Isaiah 61:1.
And when you feel any better, you will want to help others. And somehow, that will strengthen you.
What can you do for you? Yes, prayer. Continued prayer. All answers are God. A good doctor-counselor. Medicine. Or herbs. Rest, sunshine, trust. Exercise. Laughter. Good food, clean water. Time. God's music. Music is good-God's. You and God are partners. Good thing He's strong-huh?
Love in Jesus, and prayers, dear sister of mine.
