This is a rather late reply to your request of November 21, partly because I browsed the prayer requests for the first time, only a few weeks ago. And I've been thinking ever since, maybe I would reply one of these days. I see you got several responses and hopefully they were a help and encouragement to you. Prayer can be like breathing, such as in the text that says, Pray without ceasing. I Thessalonians 5:17. The Lord is always there to help. But He also has given us each other, people, as a means of providing help. Sharing prayer requests in one way. But there are others. In what I am going to share next, I do not mean to be interpreted as a replacement for prayer or the Bible or God's help.
However, the ways God can use other people to help one another are numerous. I see at least one man wrote and shared a bit of his experience which may or may not be like yours. Having someone understand can help. (Romans 12:15). The Bible also says we are to "edify" each other, that is help each other to grow. Ephesians 4:16. There are many ways this can be done, seminars, sermons, support groups, counseling with a pastor or other qualified person. I'm talking about growth in general on any topic, be it stop smoking, weight control, stress management, financial stewardship, etc. I'm just wondering if you have reached out for a human hand in the area of pornography. It's a difficult topic, and one hard to admit. It's all probably kept too quiet in the church. I was speaking to a pastor this morning about some misc. topics, not this one, and he brought up, how he'd like to have a weekend seminar at his church on pornography because it's such a big problem. Now for what I want to share: I don't know if you've heard of New Life Ministries. It's a Christian organizagion (www.newlife.com), and they address many areas of emotional and relational and spiritual growth in a very Biblical manner. They have developed resources on helping with pornography. One is a book called Every Man's Battle by Stephen Arterburn. I assume you can order it an a bookstore or check their website. I'm reading another book by him which indirectly addresses sexual purity. The subject is complicated. Not so simple as some might say. There are underlying issues. I don't mean to say "excuses". But I see pornography and many other addictions as "fruits" Not good fruits to be sure, but the best way to cure the problem is to look at the roots, don't just keep chopping off the fruits, because sometimes same fruits can pop back up if the root issues aren't dealt with. This applies to more than pornography. It can apply to any addiction. Meanwhile, you still have choice, to make a good choice every day, every moment, but sometimes dealing with roots at the same time, will give better, and more lasting results. The battle may be less in the long run if the roots are dealt with as well. New Life Ministries also has a web site called www.everymansbattle.com. They conduct weekend seminars around the country. If you want to find out more what these men are like who run the ministry, you could call and ask about the local radio station they might be on in your area. Then you could get a feel for what you think. They are Christian men. Their books in other areas have been life changing for me. (Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend, Changes that Heal by Cloud, an excellent book, dealing with root issues from a Biblical standpoint, How People Grow). I have not read Every Man's Battle since I am a woman, but I am part way through reading Every Heart Restored which is written for women, so they can better understand men's difficulties with pornography, etc. It gave me a much better understanding. Arterurn writes from a Biblical, spiritual, and a place of very high standards. He wrote that book with 2 other people, a man and a woman, who also shared their experience, struggles and insights). I hope this may be helpful to you. And maybe you already have total victory. If so, please excuse my comments, maybe they will be useful to share with someone else. Sometimes God give instant healing and miraculous answers to prayer for addictions of various types, but more often we have some work (even in the form of getting support and specific help) along with the prayers.

for your honesty. May God continue to bless you with freedom! What God has made good inside marriage, satan has distorted! My ex husband had a hard time with being intimate due to being molested by a family member and turned to pornography and such and it is a bondage! We divorced years ago and he is still in bondage it is sad. Prayer is powerful and for you to pray for others it helps you to become stronger in your area of need also because you see the bondage it does to others as it has yourself.
God I pray that you would continue to bless and free this person and that you would anoint them to " set the captives free " as you are doing with them.

Brother in Christ, I believe your addiction to pornography is not unlike any other sinful habit. And like every sin, it's just a symptom pointing to the area in which we are doubting God's love & mercy for us. The first thing you need to know is that you actually DO have the victory of this. I'm not talking about mind over matter or the power of positive thinking. I'm talking about what Jesus said on the Cross, "It is finished." That is the absolute reality of it.
The Lord Jesus washed our sins away literally, eternally. He looks at our heart, not our flesh cuz NO flesh is justified in His sight. You need to allow God to search out your heart and reveal to you why you think you need anything other than His love. Don't let guilt and shame keep you from allowing God to open your heart as His child so that He can lead you into a victorious lifestyle. Shame is the tool of satan. God's way is mercy and forgiveness and understanding. Romans 8: "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus." Jesus died for this very reason, to free us from our sinful nature. We all fall short, we all grow and learn.
There is a stubborn attitude within your heart (and in all of us at one time or another) that contradicts what God says. You doubt Him in some area, dear brother. And when you allow God to show you where it is you're doubting Him, you can confess it to Him and He will renew your mind. Get into His Word & consume it like food. For out of God's Word flow the issues of life! Also, God gave us each other to encourage & strengthen one another. There are many Christian ministries which will help to inspire and teach you how to renew your mind to "think on whatever is of good report". I pray God guide you to one that can help you. I've heard from various brothers in Christ that there is a ministry which offers a book series called "Every Man's Battle" that helps men renew their mind from pornography. Maybe they could also help you.
In the meantime, you don't need to have big faith. You need to take the faith of Jesus Christ... HIS Faith in Himself to guide and keep you. He cannot deny Himself, the Word says. Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful. It's His nature to guide and keep us from sin. He will never lie to you, He will never leave you alone! Even when Peter doubted Jesus could help him walk on the water and cried out in fear, "Lord, I sink!", Peter did not sink. Jesus caught him by the hand and kept him afloat. He is doing the same for you & me.
Pornography, like any other sin, is just a symptom of our not appropriating God's love in an area of our life. I pray in Jesus' holy name that you go before the Lord and let Him search you out and give you insight into this matter. I pray you resolve not to allow your emotions to lie to you and make up your mind to trust God to meet all your needs. I pray you believe Jesus Christ that "it is finished" and that you'll decide to believe you are set free indeed becuz of Who He is and who you are to Him. I pray this day that you begin walking from victory to victory, from glory ot glory, in the way of abundant life and perfect peace in Him. Dear Brother, I believe in God for your life. In Jesus' sweet name I pray... amen!

i know the grip it can have on someone i was exposed to it as a child i am ashamed of my past or i would also reveal who i am. but i overcame through prayer, and resistance, the only way i was able to overcome was with Christ's help and obstaining from viewing the videos/photos. each time the temptation came up i had to resist it. you cannot remove a habit you have to replace it with a new and better habit, someone sugested i say every time im tempted or have problems with my feelings to say to myself, Christ is stronger than Satan, Christ is stronger than my feelings. i was told to keep doing this every time the temptation comes on, the person said what if you do this and the first 30 days it might deminish some, but by the end of the next 30 days, (60 days total) the problem would hurt even less each time it came up, then finaly saying it each time for a total 0f 90 days to overcome. you would have to also focus your mind on something else each time the images come into your mind perhaps you can read the bible each time the thoughts come into your mind. mabe in the chapters of mathiew, mark, luke and john, mabe even acts and romans to get a better knowlegdge of christ. but also the goal is to replace the not so good thoughts with thoughts of Christ's life, and what he has done for us. to save us from our sins. May God bless, protect and be with you during your struggle. and help you overcome in the end, it can be done, i overcame it through christ. you can do it too. just trust Jesus christ. i hope this helps you overcome your problem, like i did.

When you are tempted to do this, drop to your knees and pray this through.
I do not have this problem, but I am learning that when one has a need for answers to prayer, that praying through until the answer comes and being will to except the answer that the Lord God gives you is truly the awesomeness of His wonderful Love for you that you can truly be His child and are in the center of His will for your life in Him.
Don't move, leave a job or make any major changes, He has plans for you that you will never imagine, if you are willing to let Him work through you and mold you into a jewel for His crown.
I am learning that I have to start right where I am not where I want to be, but where He wants me to be --
right here.
Give of your best to the Master,
Give of the Joy of your youth,
Throw your soul's fresh,
glowing ardor Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave;
Give Him your loyal devotion,
Give Him the best that you have .....
Give of your best to the master,
Give of the strength of your youth,
Clad in salvation's full armour,
Join in the battle for truth.
Yes, Keep Praying Through and You will have your answer as He will never leave you nor forsake you, unless you give up and walk away. He wants each of us to be overcomers.
